Proactive - Interviews for investors

Lightning Minerals to start drilling at Esperança

Episode Summary

Lightning Minerals Ltd (ASX:L1M) CEO Alex Biggs talked with Proactive’s Tylah Tully about the company’s drilling plans for the Esperança Project in Brazil’s Lithium Valley. The company has mobilised drill rigs and appointed Energold Drilling S.A. as its preferred drilling contractor after a competitive tender process. Biggs highlighted that the initial 2,000-metre drill program would focus on spodumene-bearing pegmatites identified in previous artisanal workings. The company aims to confirm lithium mineralisation at depth and explore potential repeating structures. Modular drill rigs will allow flexibility to adjust drilling plans as new data emerges. Drilling is set to begin the week of February 15. Discussing the broader exploration portfolio, Biggs emphasised the potential of Lightning Minerals’ projects across the Salinas Formation. The company has already recorded strong lithium-in-soil anomalies at the Caraíbas and Canabrava projects, with further reconnaissance work underway. Looking ahead, Lightning Minerals expects a steady flow of drill results, assay data, and exploration updates over the coming months. Biggs also noted the company’s strategic advantage in Brazil, citing cost efficiency and strong lithium market potential.
