Just the facts: Livium partners with Hithium for Woolooga Solar Farm recycling

Episode Summary

Proactive’s Tylah Tully breaks down ‘Just the Facts’ of the latest news from Livium Ltd (ASX:LIT, OTC:LMMFF). Livium Ltd, through its subsidiary Envirostream Australia, has signed an exclusive recycling agreement with Hithium Energy to recycle lithium-ion batteries supplied to Lightsource bp’s Woolooga Solar Farm in Queensland. The arrangement also permits Livium to process other Hithium batteries on a non-exclusive basis. The Woolooga Project includes 128 battery energy storage system (BESS) containers, each with a 5MWh capacity, utilising Hithium’s prismatic 314Ah cells. The project aims to enhance grid management and supply stability, particularly during periods of renewable energy variability. The agreement, which commenced on January 1, 2025, has an initial three-year term with a two-year optional extension. Livium will receive fees for services such as discharging, dismantling, processing, transport and condition assessments. While the agreement has no minimum volume commitments, it aligns with Livium’s strategy to secure exclusive contracts and diversify recyclable lithium-ion battery sources. Hithium views the project as a significant step towards expanding its energy storage initiatives in Australia, emphasising the importance of sustainable BESS disposal. Livium stated that this agreement highlighted its ability to collaborate with global lithium-ion battery manufacturers and further positioned it to support renewable energy projects across the country. #Livium #BatteryRecycling #RenewableEnergy #EnergyStorage #Hithium #WooloogaSolarFarm #BESS #LithiumIonBatteries #SustainableEnergy #GridManagement #BatteryTechnology #CircularEconomy #SolarFarm #RenewableInnovation #BatteryProcessing #RecyclingIndustry #Envirostream #EnergyStorageSolutions #QueenslandProjects #BatterySustainability
