Great Plains Metals Corp Executive Director Aidan Bishop joined Steve Darling from to discuss a significant review of historical drilling data from the company’s Goodrich copper-gold project in New South Wales, Australia. The company reviewed more than 5,000 metres of drilling across 46 historical holes held in the NSW Resources archives, uncovering significant porphyry-related mineralization that was overlooked during exploration programmes in the 1980s. Among the key results, diamond hole KB1 intersected 50.08 metres grading 0.41% copper and 0.32 grams per tonne gold. DDHG10 returned 37 metres grading 0.55% copper and 0.17 g/t gold, while percussion hole YG08 delivered 33 metres grading 0.65% copper and 1.43 g/t gold. Several shallow YG-series holes also returned strong mineralization near surface. YG07 intersected 23 metres grading 0.52% copper and 0.73 g/t gold, while YG19 returned 15 metres grading 0.33% copper and 0.84 g/t gold. The findings build on Great Plains Metals’ Stage 1 programme, where hole GGDD004 confirmed a continuous 128-metre intercept grading 0.34% copper and 0.17 g/t gold. The historical review also identified several zones containing Unidirectional Solidification Textures, a diagnostic indicator associated with the upper contact of a mineralized porphyry intrusion. In KB1, a previously unrecognized zone between 26 and 33 metres assayed 0.77% copper and 0.79 g/t gold. The photographic drill-core record also revealed altered monzonite porphyry intervals that had never been assayed. The company has submitted 94 one-metre half-core samples from KB1 and DDHG10 for testing. Bishop said historical intercepts such as the 50.08-metre KB1 interval were overlooked as exploration priorities shifted during periods of weak commodity prices. The company now believes the archive data provides further evidence of a robust porphyry copper-gold system beneath the historic Goodrich Mine workings. The results are being used to define targets for a fully funded Stage 2 drill programme, scheduled to begin later this month. The programme will test the geological relationships identified in the review and help establish targets for deeper drilling. #proactiveinvestors #greatplainsmetals #tsxv #gps #GoodrichProject #Copper #Gold #Porphyry #CopperGold #NewSouthWales #Australia #Mining #MineralExploration #Drilling #Geology #GoldMining #CopperMining #JuniorMining #MiningStocks
