American Rare Earths signs Novex MoU to advance U.S. rare earth metal production

Episode Summary

American Rare Earths CEO Mark Wall joined Steve Darling from Proactive to discuss the company’s Memorandum of Understanding with Novex, LLC, a U.S. rare earth metallurgy and metallization company, aimed at advancing the conversion of separated rare earth oxides from the Halleck Creek Project in Wyoming into rare earth metals used to produce permanent magnets. Wall said the agreement creates a framework for a potential long-term commercial relationship covering process optimization, metallization of demonstration plant output, and the joint development of a domestic rare earth metal production facility. The oxide-to-metal conversion step is considered a key bottleneck in the U.S. mine-to-magnet supply chain, as magnet manufacturers generally require rare earth metals and alloys rather than separated oxides. With China dominating global rare earth processing and metal production, American Rare Earths believes developing domestic metallization capacity is strategically important to U.S. supply-chain security. The company’s review of metallization technologies identified several potential pathways, including fluoride conversion and calciothermic reduction, lanthanothermic reduction and high-temperature molten salt electrolysis. American Rare Earths said molten salt electrolysis emerged as the primary development candidate because it can reduce reliance on anhydrous hydrogen fluoride and does not consume saleable rare earth metal as a reducing agent. Novex brings metallization technology development capabilities and experience with federally funded programs to the collaboration. The companies will assess how their respective technologies and development plans can be aligned while exploring potential federal and state support for domestic critical-minerals and magnet supply chains. The parties intend to work toward a definitive long-term collaboration and supply agreement within 12 months, supported by technical working groups and regular progress reviews. Separately, the company announced the appointment of Nick Lissolo as chief commercial officer. Wall describes Lissolo as a Wyoming native who is working with the Wyoming state government on taxes and royalties, engaging with the University of Wyoming, developing downstream magnet partnerships, and leading the company's planned Nasdaq listing process. #proactiveinvestors #americanrareearthslimited #asx #arr #otcqx #arrnf #adr #amrry #wyomingrareinc #HalleckCreek #RareEarths #CriticalMinerals #NASDAQ #HalleckCreek #DefenseSupplyChain #EnergyTransition #Mining #Wyoming #MiningNews #NovexLLC #PermanentMagnets #CriticalMinerals #USMining #WyomingMining #SupplyChain #MiningNews #CleanEnergy #MagnetTechnology
