Ameriwest Critical Metals advances Bornite Copper-Gold Project with historic core review

Episode Summary

Ameriwest Critical Metals CEO David Watkinson joined Steve Darling from Proactive to discuss the company's efforts to advance the Bornite copper-gold-silver project in Oregon, including the reassessment of historic drill core, plans for an updated technical report and opportunities for additional exploration. Watkinson explained that the Bornite project was previously owned by Plexus Resources during the 1990s, when a pre-feasibility study and other technical work were completed. Ameriwest has since recovered a substantial portion of the historic drill core and transported it to Reno, Nevada, where the material is being logged and selected intervals resampled. The company has released results from the first three holes in a seven-hole resampling program. Watkins said the initial findings are generally consistent with historical results, with copper grades appearing somewhat higher and gold and silver values also showing improvements in several intervals. Additional assay results are expected as the remaining samples are processed, providing further information to compare against the original drilling data. The resampling initiative is designed to verify the historical exploration results and support the preparation of an updated technical report compliant with NI 43-101 standards. Ameriwest is targeting completion of that report in the first quarter of 2027. Alongside the technical work, the company is beginning the permitting process for additional confirmation drilling, which could take place next summer. A key focus is evaluating the potential of the project's breccia pipe deposit. Historical work identified a high-grade outer shell with grades exceeding 3% copper equivalent, while Ameriwest is also investigating whether the lower-grade interior portion of the structure could support economic mining under current metal price conditions. Watkinson said the company is undertaking technical studies to determine whether the interior of the breccia pipe could have mining potential, emphasizing that the work is intended to test that geological and economic concept. Ameriwest is also considering geophysical surveys to investigate whether additional breccia pipes may exist elsewhere in the area. The work could help identify extensions of the known mineralization at depth and investigate the possibility of a deeper feeder system. With historic core resampling underway, an updated technical report planned and permitting preparations beginning, Ameriwest is working to establish a clearer picture of the Bornite project's mineral potential and identify the next steps toward advancing the Oregon asset. #proactiveinvestors #ameriwestcriticalmetals #cse #awcm #otc #awlif #CopperExploration #GoldExploration #SilverExploration #BonnetProject #OregonMining #CriticalMetals #CopperMining #MineralExploration #MiningStocks #JuniorMining #NI43101
