Rome Resources Plc (AIM:RMR) CEO Paul Barrett spoke with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about a 2.6km tin-bearing trend at the company’s New Brunswick exploration project in Canada, promising tin and tungsten results and plans to advance towards drilling in 2027. Barrett described the discovery as evidence of a potentially large mineralised district associated with an ancient volcanic caldera in southwestern New Brunswick, where historical tin and tungsten workings offer further exploration clues. At Victoria Lake, results have included grades of up to 0.58% tin and 0.17% tungsten. Barrett explained that sampling was designed to assess mineralisation across greisen veins and surrounding host rock, rather than simply target the highest grades. Further assay results from mineralised granite, greisen samples and trenching are awaited and will help shape the next exploration programme. Rome has also expanded its landholding from around 109 square kilometres to nearly 140 square kilometres. The company is assessing potential drilling targets, including greisen veins and quartz breccia zones, ahead of the 2027 summer season. Barrett also discussed how the Canadian project complements Rome’s tin exploration interests in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
