Genflow Biosciences Ltd (LSE:GENF, OTCQB:GENFF, FRA:WQ5) CEO Dr Eric Leire spoke with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company's Sirtuin-6 (SIRT6) therapy and detailed results from its SLAB (Sarcopenia and Longevity in Aged Beagles) study, presented publicly for the first time at the Animal Longevity Summit in Toronto. Leire said the key message was that the SIRT6 therapy performed better than the company had hoped, proving safe and well tolerated while producing encouraging evidence of improvements in both biological age and muscle measures. "Our Sirtuin-6 (SIRT6) therapy did even better than we hoped," he said, describing the findings as an important real-world indication that the approach could slow or reverse aspects of ageing. Leire highlighted that the dogs involved were naturally aged animals over ten years old, rather than genetically modified animals or laboratory models designed to mimic ageing, making the results particularly meaningful. The interview also covers the relationship observed between improvements in biological age and muscle function, as well as the response from scientists and delegates at the summit. Looking ahead, Genflow is focusing on translating the results into a commercial animal health programme, with Leire saying the company is already in active discussions with several animal health companies about taking it forward through either a licence or potential asset sale, discussions he said have been accelerated by the positive trial results.
