ReconAfrica CEO Brian Reinsborough joined Steve Darling from Proactive to provide an update on the company’s expanding African energy portfolio, highlighting progress at its KW1X discovery well in Namibia, encouraging exploration results in Angola, and ongoing seismic work offshore Gabon. Reinsborough said flow test samples from the KW1X sidetrack well have confirmed the presence of thermogenic natural gas with liquid potential, indicating a mature petroleum system ranging from late-oil to early-gas generation. The company is now preparing for a horizontal drilling and flow-testing program designed to assess deliverability, reservoir pressure response, and potential liquid yields from the discovery. The Jarvie-1 drilling rig has returned to site, maintenance has been completed, and required equipment is either on location or in transit. ReconAfrica has submitted all necessary regulatory amendments and, subject to approvals, expects to begin drilling a horizontal wellbore of up to 1,000 metres in October. The well will be completed open-hole to maximize flow from natural fractures and porous zones, with testing scheduled immediately after drilling. Beyond Namibia, ReconAfrica reported encouraging preliminary results from a soil sampling program on its acreage in Angola. The findings suggest an active thermogenic petroleum system with liquid hydrocarbon potential, similar to the geology encountered on the Namibian side of the Damara Fold Belt. The company is considering a 2D seismic program in 2027 to further define exploration targets in the region. In Gabon, ReconAfrica continues to advance 3D seismic reprocessing at the Ngulu project using state-of-the-art Full Waveform Inversion technology. The work is expected to be completed by year-end and will support a new resource assessment, appraisal well planning, and further evaluation of the Loba oil discovery and broader exploration potential across the concession. #proactiveinvestors #reconnaissanceenergyafricaltd #tsxv #reco #otcqx #recaf #OilAndGas #NaturalGas #Namibia #Angola #Gabon #Energy #Exploration #EnergyStocks #ResourceInvesting #ProactiveInvestors #EnergyTransition
