Nine Mile Metals expands VMS at Wedge Mine with strong copper, zinc, gold and silver results

Episode Summary

Nine Mile Metals CEO Patrick Cruickshank joined Steve Darling from Proactive to discuss encouraging assay results from recent drilling at the company's Wedge Mine Project in New Brunswick’s prolific Bathurst Mining Camp, further demonstrating the strength and continuity of the volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) mineralization system. The latest results come from drill hole DDH WD-26-14, which was collared on the southwestern edge of the company’s current drill pattern and completed to a depth of 158 metres. The hole successfully intersected a significant interval of high-grade VMS mineralization between 107.35 metres and 121.50 metres before transitioning into interbedded sediments and volcanics and ultimately terminating in felsic volcanic rocks. Cruickshank noted that the mineralized zone consisted primarily of pyritic VMS mineralization containing visible chalcopyrite, along with localized galena and sphalerite. Assays showed increasing grades of silver, gold, copper and zinc with depth, highlighting the strength of the system and its potential for further expansion. Peak assay values from the hole included 4.57% copper, 11.30% zinc, 2.29% lead, 62 grams per tonne silver and 1.355 grams per tonne gold. The company believes these results continue to demonstrate the polymetallic nature of the Wedge deposit and reinforce its exploration potential within one of Canada's most productive mining districts. Cruickshank also highlighted results from drill hole DDH WD-26-11, another hole drilled from the southwestern portion of the exploration pattern. The hole was completed to a depth of 149 metres and successfully intersected two distinct zones of high-grade VMS mineralization carrying copper, lead, zinc, silver and gold. The upper mineralized zone contained pyrite, chalcopyrite, covellite and bornite, reflecting a strong copper-rich component. One individual sample returned a copper grade of 3.47%, underscoring the quality of the mineralization encountered. The mineralized sequence was interrupted by what the company interprets as a historic exploration drift, evidenced by the presence of blast holes within the drill core. Below the void, copper-rich VMS mineralization resumed and continued until terminating against a silicified sedimentary mélange at approximately 104.4 metres depth. According to Cruickshank, the latest drilling continues to confirm the presence of robust, high-grade mineralization at Wedge while expanding the company’s understanding of the geometry and continuity of the deposit. The increasing precious metal values with depth and the presence of multiple sulphide-rich zones provide additional encouragement as Nine Mile advances exploration within the Bathurst Mining Camp. #proactiveinvestors #ninemilemetlas #cse #nine #otc #vmxsxf #mining #wedgemine #BathurstMiningCamp #VMS #Copper #Zinc #Gold #Silver #Lead #MiningExploration #DrillingResults #CriticalMinerals #JuniorMining #ResourceDevelopment
