Gunnison Copper Corp CEO Craig Hallworth joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce a major milestone for the company, confirming that its Johnson Camp Mine in Arizona has officially achieved commercial production after delivering record copper output and sustained operating performance. Hallworth said the declaration marks the successful transition from ramp-up to full commercial operations and demonstrates the mine's ability to consistently produce copper at levels required to support long-term production objectives. The achievement follows a record month in August 2026, when Johnson Camp produced 1,304,448 pounds of copper cathode, the highest monthly production level since operations were restarted. Strong performance continued into September, with an additional 894,767 pounds of copper cathode produced through September 17, reinforcing confidence in the operation's stability and production capabilities. Hallworth noted that reaching commercial production is an important validation of the company's operational strategy and provides a foundation for continued growth as Gunnison advances its broader copper development plans in Arizona. In addition to the production milestone, Gunnison announced the appointment of Jennifer Hayes as Chief Financial Officer. Hayes brings extensive financial and operational leadership experience, including 17 years with Intel Corporation and a recent role as CFO of a U.S. defense company. Hallworth highlighted Hayes' experience securing funding through the Defense Industrial Base Consortium, an organization in which Gunnison participates. He said her expertise aligns well with the company's strategic focus, particularly as copper produced at Johnson Camp is expected to play a role in supporting the U.S. defense and critical minerals supply chain. The company also continues to benefit from support at the state level. Hallworth recently met with Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs to discuss Gunnison's partnership with the state and its participation in the Arizona Commerce Authority's Qualified Facility Tax Credit Program. Under the program, Gunnison created 81 qualifying jobs during the 2025 tax year and expects to receive approximately US$1.62 million in refundable tax credits during the fourth quarter of 2026. The company anticipates creating an additional 19 qualifying jobs during the 2026 tax year, which would generate a further US$380,000 in refundable tax credits expected in the fourth quarter of 2027. In total, the incentive program is projected to provide Gunnison with approximately US$2 million in non-dilutive funding tied to the creation of 100 jobs at Johnson Camp. Hallworth said the program underscores Arizona's commitment to supporting domestic critical mineral production while helping create economic opportunities within the state. #proactiveinvestors #gunnisoncoppercorp #tsx #gcu #otcqb #gcumf #Copper #ArizonaMining #JohnsonCampMine #MiningNews #ResourceStocks #CleanEnergy #Infrastructure #USManufacturing #MiningIndustry #CopperCathode #SteveDarling
