EMV Capital (AIM:EMVC) CEO Ilian Iliev spoke with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company's first-half performance, growth in assets under management, portfolio developments and priorities for the remainder of 2026. Iliev said the first half was primarily about steadily executing EMVC's strategy, completing work developed in the final quarter of last year and positioning the company for further activity in H2. Discussing the portfolio, Iliev highlighted valuation movements across several companies and said EMVC was pleased that assets under management rose 4% during the first half. "We feel quite confident about the likely trends for the rest of the year," he said. He also discussed the deconsolidation of Glycotest and ProAxsis, describing it as an important step for both the portfolio companies and EMVC that should give investors a cleaner view of the balance sheet and NAV, alongside how EMVC uses its corporate finance capabilities to support portfolio companies at critical stages and help attract third-party funding. Looking ahead, Iliev highlighted potential value inflection points across the portfolio, including DeepTech Recycling's chemical recycling project in Rotterdam, as well as developments at AMR Bio, with an upcoming FDA meeting, and ProAxsis, which has returned to production with growing sales. For the rest of 2026, EMVC is working towards making its venture capital operation operationally self-sufficient, with first-half revenues already covering 70% of costs. Iliev also said the company has several projects under way that it anticipates closing before year-end, alongside continued investment in its team, infrastructure, data and AI.
