Genflow Biosciences Ltd (LSE:GENF, OTCQB:GENFF, FRA:WQ5) CEO Dr Eric Leire spoke with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company's SLAB trial meeting its primary endpoint, providing what he described as important validation for the company's centenarian SIRT6 therapy platform. The trial involved 24 naturally aged beagles, assessing whether Genflow's therapy could reduce biological age as measured by the Horvath methylation clock. Leire said treated animals showed a clear and consistent improvement signal compared with the saline control. "This is a huge milestone we have been building toward," he said. "The SLAB trial has now met its primary endpoint." Leire explained that using naturally aged dogs, rather than young lab animals or genetically modified models, made the trial a more realistic test of the therapy. He also highlighted the commercial advantages of Genflow's naked DNA delivery approach - including safety, lower manufacturing costs, no cold-chain requirement, and the ability to re-dose. The company is in discussions with tier-one global animal health companies covering potential licensing, co-development and commercialisation, with Leire saying the latest results have strengthened those conversations, though he didn't disclose names, terms or timing. Genflow plans to present full methylation clock and muscle data at the Animal Longevity Summit in Toronto on October 2. Leire stressed SLAB remains a companion-animal trial rather than a human one, though the underlying SIRT6 biology also features in the company's human-focused MASH and sarcopenia programmes.
