Proactive - Interviews for investors

Galliford Try hits top of profit guidance with margins and cash both rising

Episode Summary

Galliford Try (LSE:GFRD) CFO Kris Hampson joined Proactive's Stephen Gunnion to discuss the company's full-year 2026 trading update, with adjusted profit before tax expected to reach the top end of market expectations at £53 million on revenue growth of approximately 3%. Hampson attributed the performance to disciplined project selection, strong execution, improved commercial terms and a growing contribution from higher-margin specialist businesses. "Our adjusted profit before tax will be at the top end of market expectations, or £53 million, well ahead of the revenue growth, which is exactly the story that we want to be telling," he said. Average monthly cash rose 21% during the year, with the company carrying no drawn bank debt or pension liabilities. Capital allocation included nearly £20 million in dividends, a £10 million share buyback and the acquisition of Nene Valley Fire, which is trading ahead of pre-acquisition expectations. Looking ahead, the order book has grown approximately 5% to £4.3 billion, with around 90% of its higher 2027 revenue target already secured. Key growth areas include AMP8 water investment, energy, defence, custodial construction and affordable housing. Visit Proactive’s YouTube channel for more interviews and market updates.
