Ilika PLC (AIM:IKA, OTCQX:ILIKF) CEO Graeme Purdy talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the latest milestone in the company’s Goliath solid-state battery programme. The company has reported successful test results for its P1 2Ah prototype cells, which have undergone evaluation by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and tier one suppliers. Purdy said the feedback “confirmed that the prototypes do what they say on the tin”, a significant step in building confidence in the technology. He explained that tests were run using proprietary protocols tailored to each partner’s application, ensuring relevance to real-world conditions. These tests confirmed proper cell formation, energy capacity, charge and discharge performance, and cyclability over time. Purdy also discussed the company's next steps, which include the internal testing of its more advanced 10Ah prototypes. He noted that initial data has already been collected, and in-house validation is underway to ensure no surprises when these are sent out to partners for external evaluation. Purdy added, “It’s fantastic that we've got this validation back from our partners. I think that’s given the team here…some comfort that we’re on the right track.” To hear more updates from Ilika and other innovators, visit Proactive’s YouTube channel.
